Hardscape Trends: What We’re Seeing in 2026
June 17, 2026
At Heritage Landscape Supply Group, we are always watching what’s next not just in hardscapes, but across design as a whole. One thing we continue to see play out is that home fashion follows high fashion.
That insight drove our focus on bluestone and white exteriors earlier this spring. White remains a defining neutral, and shades of blue continue to influence both culture and design. Those themes are already making their way into outdoor living spaces in a meaningful way.
Looking ahead, we explored key takeaways from Fall 2026 Fashion Week and how they translate into hardscape design for the rest of the year.

Summer Kickoff: Self-Expression and Coastal Nostalgia
June sets the tone for summer, and this year it’s all about self-expression. Designers are leaning into personality, color, and a sense of fun that feels rooted in nostalgia.
We are seeing a strong return of the beach bungalow aesthetic with a fresh perspective. Think Key West meets Palm Springs. It is relaxed, playful, and full of character. Shells, sun-faded pinks and oranges, nautical touches, and coastal details like ships and fish motifs are showing up again. It captures Americana summer culture at its best.
Alongside that, there is a nod to ‘80s and ‘90s color and boldness, giving designers permission to be more creative with materials and layouts.

In hardscape applications, this shows up as:
- Statement materials like turquoise boulders that bring energy to poolscapes
- Saturated tones such as red marble pavers that add personality
- Western-inspired luxury with natural textures and rugged, elevated finishes
- Layered white on white applications for a clean, coastal summer look
The common thread is spaces that feel curated, expressive, and personal.

Key Material and Color Trends
Warm Neutrals, Elevated
Mustard tones are trending in fashion, and in hardscapes this translates into gold-driven materials like white and gold quartzite or warm, golden sandstones.
Bold Contrast
Black continues to make an impact. Black on black applications or black paired with bold accents create a more modern, architectural look.
Natural Color Stories
Blues, browns, and tans remain foundational, but with a softer and more relaxed feel. Less polished, more organic.
Texture and Detail
There is growing interest in subtle texture and dimension. Layering materials, incorporating movement, and adding small details bring depth without overcomplicating the design.

The Bottom Line
Homeowners are looking for spaces that feel easy, timeless, and livable but still reflect their personal style. The goal is not overly designed spaces, but thoughtful ones. Classic at the core with just enough personality to make them stand out.
At Heritage, we see these trends as an opportunity to help our customers create outdoor spaces that are both functional and inspiring.
